This research aims to analyze the village government’s action plan in the development of independent villages based on tourism villages focusing on Ponggok Village, Klaten Regency. The main objective in this report is to find out how the village government’s action plan in the development of independent villages based on tourism village, what are the barriers affecting the village goverments action plan for tourism village development and how the evaluation carried out by the village government in developing Ponggok Village into an independent village based on tourism villages. This research highlights the tourism assets of Ponggok Village. The method used in this research is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach using data collection techniques in this research through interviews, observation and documentation. In implementing the program run by the Ponggok Village government, there are several evaluations carried out, namely evaluation through daily, monthly and quarterly reports. The main supporting factors in the implementation of this analysis are the active participation of the community and support from related parties. The conclusion of this study shows that the role of local government is crucial in the development of tourism villages. This implementation relies heavily on the active participation of the community.
